Meet Munyana
Personal life:
When my daughter showed up in my life (or womb at first), I felt alone and not fully equipped to be a mother.
I desperately wanted a place where I could find an army of strong women and people that would be my support system throughout pregnancy and motherhood.
While I certainly found a few people who helped me, I failed to find that one place I could run to whenever I felt the need to be encouraged, supported, understood, and most of all celebrated.
As my own journey through motherhood progressed, I had a growing passion, which I believe Christ placed in me, to create a one-stop center where pregnant women and mothers could go and find all that love and care for themselves and their babies.
RERA holistic Maternity is just that. I want every pregnant woman and mother in Kigali to find a cozy second home in us...and I hope you love it.
Professional life:
Prior to pursuing my dream of creating RERA, I worked as the Social Empowerment department’s Head at Women for Women Rwanda, where I helped empower socio-economically marginalized women.
Before that, I was the Country Director of IDEA4Africa: an INGO with a mission to foster an entrepreneurial culture within both youth and women communities. I joined IDEA4Africa after teaching at the United International College in Zhuhai China for a year, along with having worked with a few other organizations that help children in the US during my college years.
Needless to say, I have a strong passion for helping the most vulnerable: women and children.
